"I can only imagine" by Mercy Me is one of my favorite songs. It describes a journey to Heaven and what the songwriter envisions it is like. I am so inspired by this song for many reasons.
At a recent Creative Memories convention, a story was told about a Creative Memories customer and her family. It has inspired me to turn up the passion about this business. Brenda and Paul have been married for 15 years and have 4 beautiful children. When they first met, it was Paul who introduced Brenda to the world of making keepsake albums. He told her about Creative Memories and explained of the excellent quality. He took her to her first class and she learned the importance of preserving her pictures and telling the stories behind them. Fast forward through a life of family, vacations and holidays...all documented in full color with pictures and stories to live on forever. Late one night, Brenda was awaiting Paul's return from work. He called her on the phone to tell her he just left and he would be home shortly. She decided to sort through some pictures they recently had developed and ge them ready to go into their album. She was so involved in her pictures that she didn't notice the time until there was a knock at the door. It was shortly after 11 pm and the State Highway Patrol stood at her door. He told her the news that her husband had been killed instantly in a horrible accident. Slowly, one by one, the children awoke to the incomprehendable news. In the middle of that tragic night, they began digging out thier father's albums and pouring over his pictures and stories. Stories of how much he loved them and how proud he was to be their dad. Stories of how he fell in love with their mom. Stories of his dreams for their future.
I can only imagine this story without Creative Memories. Can you imagine losing a loved one in the blink of an eye? Can you imagine never hearing another "I love you"? Can you imagine the awesome gift these kids have from their father...who is no longer with them in the physical world, but lives on with them through his pictures and stories?
Honestly, I don't want to imagine the day when my tomorrow never comes. Until then, I just keep plugging along through the journey of life, documenting it my albums.
