In 1928, Wilbur (Web) Whipple Holes, owner of the small printing business in St. Cloud (that later became Holes-Webway Company), invented the Flex-Hinge® binding – people commonly referred to it as “Web’s Way” – as well as the machines to manufacture it.

This binding, still used by Creative Memories today, allows albums to lie flat without interrupting the continuity of a double-page spread. It also lets consumers easily arrange or add pages in their albums.
